December 11, 2022. . Finally have a few days on the ice guiding up here on Devils Lake. The cold snap definitely firmed up the ice and I’d say we have on average 10 plus inches all over the lake. Quite a few ridges out there, most are quiet at the moment, but with the snow they are forecasting that will change also.Starting Saturday, this area was just touching 4 inches. Today it touched 6, 2 inches in 96 hours, not terrible. That rate of ice thickness is about to be put into fast forward, and with clean ice for the most part, our ice sheet is about to be put into overdrive.
