Aug 4, 2012 · I recently adjusted the valves and performed an oil change because it wouldn't idle properly and was throwing the dreaded P2646 code. The idle cleared up perfectly, found the exhaust valves were tight as hell. I removed the spool valve at this time and cleaned the screen, replaced it, P2646 remains, still going into limp mode at 3000 rpm. backgournd: 2008 honda element ~150K miles, no other issues or codes, change oil every 5k with specified weight. Current oil level is full and has about 500 miles usage. Check engine light comes on with VSA and exclamation point lights as well. Comes on when transitioning past 3000 rpm. What I've done to dateIf it does not it will set the code. At 3000 rpm it should take at least 57 psi oil pressure to open the rocker arm oil pressure switch. If the oil pressure is low at that point throwing parts at it will not correct the issue. Read the info at the link below. So far I have changed the oil pressure switch, cleaned both screens and the front and back of the head and even changed to a honda oil filter. So far I haven't fixed anything.
