There was a gap between Marlin and Remlin production but I don't know the exact dates. Also, the first stainless Mod 336 was made in 2000 and was known as the Mod 336M. Model 39 Marlins with HS prefixes will date from 1932-37. Also 1938, but 1938 guns will have HS prefix and 39a style mag tubes. The late 39 also had the serrated buttplate, not the Marlin marked buttplate. Early HS prefix model 39 Marlins will have the bullseye, while later guns will not.The Model '93's with the "C" suffix to the serial number are a little harder to determine the date this rifle would have been made.
