The tapered mags on the 2011 along with the much bigger magwell make magazine insertion a breeze. Between the two it is a wash as to which is faster/easier. As far as size goes, the guns are virtually identical. The tactical magwell on the STI makes the Staccato thicker in that area but to this point it has not lead to any additional printing.

I have never noticed a big difference in the Gen1 vs. Gen2 grip. The difference when using skate board tape or having a "golf ball" textured grip doesn't make much difference in my shooting performance.
