After installing the new thermostat, I connected everything back together, put in fresh coolant, and started it up to bleed the system of air.

Replacing ac relay. Adding a 2 watt solar panel to offset battery drain (didn't help at night with no sun). Looked at numerous parasitic drain troubleshooting videos.
