Question #1 - I am told by a friend that the vacuum advance points towards cylinders 2 and 4 on a 350. Is this the case for a 4.3. The TBI distributor had no vacuum advance so I don't know. Yes this can all be done pretty easily. You need that intake, a carb, and a 78-85 ish HEI distributor if you want the simpler HEI. I think you may have a few tricks running the th350 starter and the modern flex plate. I can't recall the teeth counts, but, that should be your biggest issue.
