I just bought my first STI Staccato P 4.4" 2020 model. I personally love the grip. I am in Alaska and I just put 500 rounds through her in -1deg f. The grip was very positive and perfect for my large hands when I loose all feeling. Was able to maintain a firm purchase on the firearm in all stages of draw to reholster.Bottom Line: Dropping $2000 to $7,000 on any custom or production line 1911 / 2011 such as the new STI/Staccato XC (former STI Omni, DVC-P), you better finish the job with the right holster and rig. Personally I prefer the quick handling of the 4.4. The only other real difference will be the trigger pull weight. The XL has Staccato's "competition" trigger set at 2.5lbs where as the P has the "duty/carry" trigger set around 4lbs.
